How the SMS Contact Server Works
The SMS Nordic Contact Server-solution is a modular platform that provides safe and cost efficient communication between a company network and cell phone users. The solution utilizes the SMS Nordic-Router developed in Sweden that allows users to receive and deliver data to and from an internal company network using an ordinary cell phone, to another cell phone connection, or through a permanent connection to a GSM-operator.
Flexibility of Use
For "Mobile to Mobile Communication" the SMS-Router is equipped with one mobile unit for outgoing communication and one for incoming. The cell phone users communicate using their cell phone or PDA, and have direct contact with the router that handles the SMS-traffic for the internal network. The SMS-Router communicates with a Windows NT / Windows 2000 server in the network and receives/transmits SMS formatted text strings to and from the network. For example; the text strings can be requests to, and responses from, databases and business systems in an internal company network. Database plug-in is
available.
Cost Efficient
One of the advantages with the SMS Nordic Contact Server is the cost efficiency. SMS-message services require a limited connection cost to send and receive information in internal company networks compared with a connection that uses normal cell phone dial-up
communication.
High Security
Thanks to the built-in security functions in Windows NT / Windows 2000 that can detect the user's mobile telephone number, and a established control format for exchanging information between users and network, the security provided by the SMS Nordic Contact Server is extremely high.
