The SMS Nordic Contact Server allows company employees based in the field to interact with an internal network to access a database.

By using the SMS Nordic Contact Server, companies will not need to develop new database solutions or business management solutions. Instead, they will be able to use already existing solutions and systems. The SMS Nordic Contact Server is a turnkey product that allows the system developer to concentrate on creating new wireless applications rather than solving problems concerning connections to the GSM Network.

The SMS Nordic Contact Server translates messages from the company's network to GSM/SMS protocols as well as translating incoming SMS-messages to network protocol and database APIs. The company's own applications then manages the information in the SMS-message and, for example, stores it in a database.

TThe SMS Nordic Contact Server connects to the company's internal network and intranet via a standard RS232 interface to a PC/PC-server, on which the SMS software is installed under Windows NT / Windows 2000.

The SMS Nordic Contact Server can connect to the GSM-network in two different ways:
1. Through connected GSM modules which provide "mobile to mobile" connection.
2. Through a permanent connection to the  SMSC over X.25 or TCP/IP.
